The leader of the county council has said that he will invite stakeholders to County Hall to discuss the proposed changes. I am concerned as we are well into the consultation period and nothing has happened. All five of my grandchildren were born here, one of them by emergency caesarean. In all the time that I have lived in Pembrokeshire I have had a feeling of security due to the nearness, high standards, sympathy and friendliness of this hospital.

The travel distance to Carmarthen would cause immense hardship to relatives, the hospital is also the town’s biggest employer. When they are in hospital here I can pop in and see them, if they were in Carmarthen that would take half a day. They should divide the money that is available to build a new hospital and upgrade Withybush and Glangwili with it.”	Michael and Valerie Reason, Goodwick “Mike has been admitted through A&E as an emergency inpatient four times this year. The first time it was critical. The extra distance to Carmarthen would have been inconvenient to say the least. Our A&E staff are incredible, they are very caring.”

Upgrading it will be more advantageous to the community than to close it.”	Vicky Moller, conservationist, Crymych “It’s all about people empowerment. I think people need to be empowered to take charge of health. Many people are here because of the gratitude they feel towards the hospital. It has saved people’s bacon when they have had a disaster on their hands. Localisation of services is the way forward.”
Dr Prem, GP, Solva “When the hospital opened I was one of the first to work here. It was described as a great jewel for Pembrokeshire. We have got very good services and good compassionate care from the doctors and nurses here.”
